Care assessment

Trying to organise a care assessment for Dad. Lots of information – very nervous about it – has anyone got any advice how best to handle it?

Hi, have you managed to do this yet? It can take weeks depending on which Local Authority you are under. Please do not worry about it, its a simple process. A member of the Social Work team will come and assess your Dad – this is done on a ‘person centred basis’ which means that they will listen to what your dads needs are. They will then look at wider issues. His environment, whether or not he is managing his personal care. They are trained to look at all aspects to support his wellbeing. A Care Assessment will guide you as well as your dad, to receiving the right level of support. I hope this goes someway to allay your concerns –
