HILS’ Active Ageing Service

The Hertfordshire Independent Living Service (HILS), in collaboration with Sport England, offers an Active Ageing service which provides personalised exercise support to Hertfordshire’s older residents. The service can include one-to-one sessions in an older person’s home, or local group activities. The service is for over-55s and completely free, other than some small fees for group sessions.

Move It or Lose It Exercise Class Hertfordshire

Move It or Lose It! run sociable exercise classes for older people throughout the country, including in Hertfordshire. Move it or Lose it! classes are delivered by experts in seniors exercise, and are targeted at improving flexibility, balance and strength. Hertfordshire U3A Sport Groups and Exercise Classes

Hertfordshire has a fantastic number of active University of the 3rd Age (U3A) groups. These groups offer a range of social activities, sports groups and exercise classes, and are also a great way of older people getting to know other seniors in their community. Swimming for older people in Hertfordshire

Active East Herts, alongside Herts Sports Partnership, provide strength and balance classes for older people in the Bishops Stortford area. The classes are focused on reducing the risks of falling for people who still walk and stand. The classes are carried out standing up, and cost £4 per session.
