It’s useful to know about hospital procedures whether your parent arrives via A&E or as a planned admission. Everyone knows that the less time spent in hospital the better. No one ‘bed blocks’ intentionally, and sometimes it takes time to sort out any care or rehabilitation needed post-hospital. However in lots of cases you can speed things up by knowing who makes which decisions and by keeping up with exactly what is going on.
