Do you work and also care for an elderly parent or relative?

Get involved

If you work – whether full time or part-time – whilst also caring for an elderly parent or relative, then we need your help to complete this short survey.  We want to know how juggling work and care impacts your work and what might help you out.

From 2025 there will be more people in work with elderly dependents than with childcare responsibilities. Bonkers stat but it does make sense with our ageing population and an ageing workforce.

Only now is there any legislation and policies to support people to work and care.  The Carer’s Leave Act came into force earlier this year, providing employees with one weeks’ unpaid leave for caring responsibilities.  This along with the right to request flexible work is a start, but there’s a long way to go.

We first undertook this survey before the pandemic.  So, it’s time to see if people feel the same, better or worse about working and caring.

This survey is part of our new service – The Care Planning Experts – an employer and employee support programme.  The results will help inform our approach providing valuable personal insights.

Do please complete the survey – it will take about 3 minutes.  All responses will be anonymised and confidential. And we’ll publish the results before Christmas.

With many thanks.
