7 Lifestyle Essentials to Improve Your Wellbeing

In the second in our series of features from award winning online magazine Annabel & Grace, Annabel is sharing with us some of her favourite products to improve heart, mind and body.

There are so many products out there promising to improve our health and wellbeing. We’ve been lucky enough to try a few and bring you some of the best, saving you time and money.

I hope they’ll become your lifestyle essentials as they have mine, here goes ….

TURMERIC+ GOLD, £25.00

Grace and I have long been advocates of products from FutureYou Cambridge because of their science-backed formulations.

I take their Turmeric + Gold supplements daily as without them, I often feel lethargic and tired.

I had previously read a report that said turmeric might be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence and this is backed up by many high-quality studies. You might have read about the healing properties for bones and joints but it also boosts the brain hormone BDNF, which increases the growth of new neurons and is reported to help fight various degenerative processes in your brain including Alzheimer’s disease.

It also contains Vitamin C, which contributes to collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones and protects cells from oxidative stress.

Lots of positives and after 3 weeks, I can definitely feel my mind is sharper. We all have problems with a recall of names or in my case, calling my children by the dogs’ names, but there has been a noticeable difference. My husband was the one that noticed, and he has now asked to take it too.

FUTUREYOU SUPER GREENS+, £23.00

Caring for an elderly relative is incredibly tiring and FutureYou Super Greens+ is great for people who need a natural energy boost. They are the UK’s first and only super greens effervescent drink that contain a multi-nutrient blend of vitamins and minerals typically found in greens. Plus it’s sugar-free!

Since I’ve started taking Magnesium+ I have found my energy levels have already improved. However, there are still times when I’m especially busy and Super Greens+ gives me that extra boost to get me through the day.

SPLAT BIOCALCIUM TOOTHPASTE, £11.49

I suffer from ultra-sensitive teeth and gum issues and a friend in the medical profession recommended Splat Biocalcium toothpaste.

It’s full of natural goodness, for example the bioactive calcium comes from eggshell and natural papaya enzyme prevents plaque development. The high content of these ingredients makes it possible to strengthen and remineralise dental enamel and reduce hypersensitivity. Plus it tastes nice too!

Since using Splat Biocalcium toothpaste, I have not had any issues with bleeding gums and my hygienist remarked how good my teeth and gums were looking. Absolutely worth the money if you have sensitive teeth.

TLONDON HOME FRAGRANCE, FROM £9.50

Grace and I have long been fans of the TLondon range of home fragrances.

Every fragrance evokes a memory making it the perfect gift for an older relative as it can help stimulate memories especially for people living with dementia.

We recently tried the new Berry Leaf fragrance which comes as a room spray or reed diffuser. Inspired by a Cotswold Garden, this fragrance is bursting with berries and flora including geranium leaf, rose and sandalwood.

They have also recently switched to 100% recycled plastics or glass, getting a big sustainable thumbs up from us.

If you have never tried the TLondon range, next time you want to buy a gift for yourself or someone else, give it a go – you won’t regret it. Plus, new customers can use coupon code TLNEW for a 10% discount.

SKINCEUTICALS MINERAL EYE UV DEFENSE SUNSCREEN, £23.95

I have incredibly sensitive eyes and whenever I apply sunscreen the heat and sweat causes it to run, making my eyes stream and sore. However, it’s important to wear an SPF, especially for us slightly mature ladies and Skinceuticals Eye Defense Sunscreen is brilliant. It is also a tinted mousse and can double as a concealer, whilst protecting the delicate eye area.

You may also notice an improvement with dark eye circles as this cream protects that eye area from sun damage too. I no longer suffer from eye irritation, and this product has become one of my daily lifestyle essentials.

HAYO'U JADE BEAUTY RESTORER, £30.40

If you really want to treat yourself, invest in one of these jade crystals. Even if you don’t manage to do it twice daily as recommended, it’s lovely to have ‘me’ time and give yourself the occasional pamper.  Devoid of professional facials during lockdown, I decided to re-introduce the Beauty Restorer into my daily routine. I now take it into the shower in the morning and just use it with water running down my face. Then, in the evening, I use it with Hayo’u nourishing oil.

We know, it’s hard to believe, as there are so many products that promise the world but this restorative crystal helps to improve energy flow, support circulation and lymphatic drainage. I have definitely noticed a difference to my fine lines and wrinkles.

If you don’t believe me, we recommend you watch founder of the Hayo’u Method, Katie Brindle, doing a brow lift as part of a full Gua Sha facial routine with the Skin Whisperer.

LOOK FABULOUS FOREVER *NEW* LONG-LASTING LIPSTICK, £20.00

Last but not least, it’s time to get the lippie out ladies because looking good on the outside can make us feel better on the inside!

After 15 months of wearing masks, the poor lipstick has been relegated to the back of the make-up drawer. However, it looks like these rules will be lifted on 19th July, and whilst it may not be considered a health item it does have some therapeutic properties.

Long-lasting lipstick has been anathema to me because it has always dried my lips out and run into those pesky age lines around my lips. However, this is now all in the past as Look Fabulous Forever (LFF) has launched a new Stay All Day Lasting Colour Lipstick that has none of the above negatives.

LFF sent Grace and I some of these new lipsticks to try out, and we both love them. Even when I’m out and about, whipping my mask on and off all day, my LFF Dusky Rose stays put!
