Eligibility for Patient Transport Services in Kent
Southern Ambulance Eligibility
A patient is eligible for patient transport services if they meet one of the following criteria:
- They cannot use other forms of travel because of their medical or mobility condition
- If they were not to use these services, their medical condition would worsen

G4S Eligibility
Patients may be eligible for G4S’ transport services if they meet any of the following criteria:
- May need qualified assistance en route
- Are registered with a Kent and Medway GP
- Are registered with a GP in Bromley or Bexley and are travelling to an appointment in Kent or Medway
- Are going to or from an NHS appointment (not emergency or privately-funded care) OR home from a hospital stay
- Are going for physically demanding treatment, such as dialysis
- Cannot use other forms of transport because of their medical or physical condition
