Day Care Centres offer an opportunity for older people who find it difficult to get out of the house to socialise, make friends, and take part in activities.
If you’re a carer who also works full time, day care centres offer a safe daytime option if your relative is not able to join a care home but is also not completely comfortable at home.
There is no minimum or maximum amount that you can use a day care centre and in addition to activities they often supply lunch. It’s also a good idea to check if the day care centre you choose supplies transport – as this is sometimes the case.
There are many day care centres across Suffolk and Age Space has listed some by region below. However, you may also wish to search for one on your own which you can do so through Google, Care UK, Suffolk InfoLink, or Housing Care. You can adjust the filters for your elderly parents unique needs e.g. dementia.
