Day Care Centres provide an opportunity for elderly people to meet-up and enjoy a meal out. Most Day Centres also provide fun activities such as computer training, singing and trips out. Attending a local Day Care Centre is often the highlight of an elderly person’s week.
Day Centres are also beneficial in that they provide carers with some time off their caring duties. You can trust that your elderly relative is in safe hands and enjoying themselves, if you are unable to visit them or be with them on certain days. They are a good stepping stone in between living independently and full time residential care. Some have the provision of hygiene services such as toenail clipping, meaning one less thing to worry about at home.
The opening times of day care centres have been included in the Surrey guide below. Sometimes, centres provide transport meaning your relative can be picked up and dropped back off at home. Prices are included where possible but we recommend you ring up in advance and enquire. Most centres will offer a free tour or trial visit to see if the centre appeals.
