Claygate Centre for the Community

The team at the Claygate Centre for the Community serve a hot three course lunch every weekday for local over 50s. There is also a tea bars available in the afternoon offering a selection of teas, coffees and hot and cold refreshments. Along with lunch, the centre hosts iPad training, art classes and occasional outings.

Lunch Clubs in Epsom and Ewell

Epsom Community & Wellbeing Centre

The Epsom & Ewell council run community centre has a self service restaurant open Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 1pm. Alongside lunch there is a regular schedule of activities and events. In the afternoon, a selection of homemade cakes, hot drinks and sandwiches are available.

The centre also provides special occasion lunches followed by live entertainment. These events have a small attached fee.

Guildford Borough Council operates two social centres for people aged 55 or over who live within the area. The centres provide a place to socialise in a welcoming environment. Each centre has a coffee shop, and dining area providing hot and cold lunches at a reasonable price. Dietary requirements can be met.

Lunch Clubs in Reigate and Banstead

Chavecroft Lunch Club

Banstead Age Concern run the Chavecroft Lunch Club. It facilitates older people coming together and having lunch on alternate Wednesdays and occassional Thursdays. Members can be brought to the club by Age Concern minibus. On arrival at about 10am, members have a choice of tea or coffee and biscuits. This is followed by a 2 course lunch and afternoon tea, with a charge of £5.

Special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and ‘noughties’ birthdays are celebrated, and new members are always made to feel welcome.

Runnymede Council run 3 community centres across Runnymede. Each provide an optional two course freshly cooked lunch and dessert each day at midday for just £4.30. Special diets can be catered for at no additional charge. There are also snacks, drinks and coffee available for those who are not so hungry,
