Norfolk County Council’s community transport service helps eligible adults get to essential health, social and wellbeing services. The team is made up of volunteer car drivers that will pick you up at your house, or the nearest safe place, and provide a door-to-door service.

Please note: they are unfortunately unable to take anybody who requires a wheelchair.

To book, you will need to call them with at least three working days notice before your journey, up to a maximum of two weeks in advance. There is a charge of 45p per mile and you will be required to pay the cost of the journey in cash directly to the driver on the day of travel. Centre 81

Centre 81 door-to-door community transport service is available to anyone in the borough of Great Yarmouth that struggles with using buses and taxis. Their fleet of 9 accessible minibuses have secure anchor points for wheelchairs, tail lifts for access and friendly, helpful drivers. Itโ€™s an affordable service that can be used for practically anything โ€“ from getting to medical appointments and the bank to going shopping and visiting friends.

North Norfolk

North Norfolk Community Transport

North Norfolk Community Transport is a registered charity and can support anyone in North Norfolk who is without their own transport and unable to use public transport, either because of ill health, disability or because there is no service meeting their needs. In North Norfolk there are some areas with no public transport service at all. Their services are available to people of any age, but specifically aimed at over 65s who would be unable to access their local community and services otherwise.

Norwich Door to Door is a community transport scheme set up for residents of Norwich and the surrounding suburbs with limited mobility. They have aย friendly and qualified team of drivers and passenger assistants to operate 12 fully accessible minibuses to ensure travel is comfortable and safe. You are able to use the service to access appointments, clubs, day centres, shops or even visits to friends and family on weekdays.

To become a passenger, you can call them or complete the passenger registration form. They will then have a team visit to assess your needs and find out what they can do to help you. Signing up will include a one off charge of ยฃ25 and extra, small fares can be paid when you travel or invoiced monthly.

BACT Community Transport

BACT Community Transport operates in South Norfolk and Suffolk to provide transport facilities to local residents. To use the service, you will need to register as a member at a cost of ยฃ18. You can call them to sign up.
